Pulpo a la gallega is a traditional Spanish dish, typical from Galicia region. It is boiled octopus cut in slices served on top of boiled potatoes cut in slices as well. All is sprinkled with sweet and spicy paprika and coarse salt and drizzled with olive oil. The dish is traditionally served on wooden plates.
We prepared another delicious Spanish plate! The funny part of cooking it is that before actually boiling the octopus you have to repeatedly dip in and out it of the boiling water. It is called to 'scare the octopus'.

Plac Defilad is in the center of the city, near the Centrum metro station. It is a big square with some important buildings. There is the Palace of Culture and Science. Around the Plac Defilad are also many other things to visit: train station, shopping malls, etc.
We were walking around and saw a temporary exposition of very colorful benches. We sat in one with a mermaid. Isn't it beautiful?

Salmorejo is a creamy soup made of tomatoes, bread, oil and garlic. It is typical from Cordoba. It is usually served cold and may be garnished with diced Spanish serrano ham, diced hard-boiled eggs and diced black olives.
It is ideal for the summer. We prepared at home and could enjoy this fabulous taste. It was really refreshing during hot days.
