Medieval festival

Each year, in Park Bródnowski, takes place a Medieval Festival. Many people dress like in the Middle-Ages with armors, swords, shields, etc. There are also many people riding horses. There are some spectacles like sword fights and battle recreations.

I wanted to go as soon as I saw the announcements. We enjoyed being in the Middle-Ages for one day. It was lots of fun. I tasted medieval typical food!

Home-made Kebab

The kebab is a Middle Eastern dish originally based on grilled meat. There are many variations and names of the dish. The most known are gyros and doner kebab.

We created our own version of Kebab. It's made of beef, some salad, tomatoes, and of course spicy sauce. It is sooo delicious!

Puszcza Kampinoska

Warsaw is full of parks, and also is surrounded by many green areas. One of them is the Puszcza Kampinoska (Kampinos Forest), a large forest complex located at the west of Warsaw. It is a protected national park of 240km2.

We took a long walk among the trees. We could enjoy the quietness and the songs of the birds. During our walk, we collected pine cones. I couldn't help to have a picture with them. Also, we had time to make a small picnic and eat homemade Tortilla de Patatas.

Kanapka

"Kanapka" (plural "Kanapki") is the polish word for sandwich. There are many varieties of sandwiches, with 1 or 2 slices of bread, with different types of bread, with different fill-in, etc. I enjoy every type!

In the morning, I really like to have those that you can see in the picture. They are made with one slice of toasted bread like a base, and on top some fill-in. Those in the picture have some ham, cheese, tomatoes and sprouts.

Streets of Spain

For the 3rd time in Warsaw, it took place the festival of Spanish culture and cuisine called "Streets of Spain". It was a weekend full of Spanish music, language, cinema and of course cuisine.

We went the second day of the festival. And we had a chance to participate in the workshop on how to cook paella! When it finished, we could taste black paella. We saw a lot of delicious things to eat such as grilled octopus, paella, chorizo, jamón serrano, and many other things.

Bears in park Praski

At the entrance of the Praski park, there is a bear pit where you can sometimes see bears. They normally live in the zoo, but sometimes they are in this pit in Praski to attract visitors to the park.

We were going to the center by tram when we saw a bear in the pit. We run to say hi and wish him good day. He had beautiful eyes!

My birthday

The 13th of May is a very special day. We celebrate my birthday.

I loved the piñata last year, so this year I had one too. We could not find a piñata in any shop because it is not very popular in Poland. So we made one ourselves, it looked beautiful, so pro!

We had a lot of fun in my birthday party. We ate delicious strawberry and cream cake and played a lot of games.

Chocos fritos

The "chocos" is another typical Spanish specialty. It is battered squid, cut in strips. Typically, "chocos" are prepared and can be bought in the places called "freidurías".

The first time I tasted "chocos" prepared in "freiduría" was in Cádiz, and since then I wish to eat them all the time. And guess what? It can be home-made as well! And it is as delicious as the "chocos" from the "freiduría"!

Pole Mokotowskie

Pole Mokotowskie is a large park located between the city center and the Mokotów district. Located within the park is the Polish National Library.

We found this park by chance while walking around the city. It is very big and beautiful. We had to run a lot and find some shelter because a summer storm came suddenly and it started to rain cats and dogs!

Puntillitas

Another typical Spanish specialty is the puntillitas. It is battered and fried baby squid. Once served, you can flavor it with a few drops of lemon. It is funny that in each region it is called with a different name: puntillitas, chopitos, pulpitos and many more!

The other day we prepared a delicious dinner of puntillitas. I am wishing to repeat is soon, it was so tasty!!
