We got Nem from the restaurant.
Spring rolls are very popular. There are many varieties and they are made with very different ingredients for the filling and the wrapping.
They receive many names depending on the region. In northern Vietnam, they are usually called Nem.

We prepared natillas (Spanish vanilla dessert).
Natillas is typical Spanish desert made of egg yolk, milk, sugar, corn flour, vanilla and cinnamon. It’s served chilled.
Did you know that depending on the region you can find different things on the top of natillas? Like white cheese, cookie, caramel, chocolate or shredded coconut.
We love cinnamon so we sprinkled our natillas with cinnamon.

We prepared some food for the wild birds and hung it on the trees.
In winter, there is snow and everything is frozen in many places in the world. For some animals, sometimes it can be difficult to find food.
Some animals travel very long distances to go to warmer places. Some others can hibernate. They have the ability to eat a lot of food and get the energies to have a very long sleep, that takes them through the winter.
But most animals, stay at their homes.
We prepared these snacks for the wild birds to have energies to fly and play with the other birds.
Did you know that many species of wild bears can hibernate? But not all of the species, some of them live in warm places or don’t know how to do this. You have a good example in plushie species, we stay very active during winter.

We prepared rice with beans.
There are many different varieties and ways to prepare rice with beans. We cooked the white beans in a tomato-based sauce and mixed them with delicious white rice.
Rice is one of the oldest documented cultivated plants. Did you know there is proof it was cultivated more than 10000 years ago? They say, that at this time, the first rice was domesticated. It is just funny to think about wild rice being rebel!
Rice is not only a super plushie food. It has been used for many other things along history: making paper, ropes, cosmetics and many other things.
Did you know that rice was even used to build the Great Wall of China? Its sticky properties made it ideal to be mixed with mortar to make the base for the cement. And it sticks there for centuries!

We got pączki from the bakery!
Pączki are the typical polish doughnuts. They are buns, with many different coatings and many different fillings. You can find them everywhere, in markets, supermarkets, bakeries, small shops… They still don’t grow up in trees, but we will see after my project Misiu-pączek 2.0
We decided to get one of the most traditional: glazed sugar coating and raspberry marmalade filling.
